The Ricoh Alexe

Back

The Ricoh Alexe is a calculator that originated from the 1960s, made by Japanese company "Ricoh".

What made the Ricoh Alexe so special was its size and ease of use, not to mention how compact it was: It managed to fit a reset system, 5 dials, and an addition and subtraction lever all into a 140x45x25 mm chassis.

The Ricoh Alexe was patented by Masaharu Nara in Tokyo around 1965. However, the calculator was also sold under another name, the Rambler. It had minimal changes, being the slide handles being modified and the faceplate being altered.
